Learn how Network Technology Partners became a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and achieved Gold Partner status.

A Microsoft Gold-Certified partner is a company that has agreed to collaborate and establish a close working relationship with Microsoft. Having that title means the company who applied itself has earned the highest standards of Microsoft’s widely-recognized partnership program. Achieving such a status means Microsoft has declared that the company has committed itself to evolving Microsoft technologies for the interests of its own needs as well as those of its clients.

“Microsoft Certified Professional certification validates IT professional and developer technical expertise through rigorous, industry-proven, and industry-recognized exams. MCP exams cover a wide range of Microsoft products, technologies, and solutions.”

Types of Microsoft Certified Professional Certifications:

As of now, Microsoft has nineteen different Competencies. The company’s overall competence and background will determine what type of Microsoft partner it turns out to be: Gold or Silver.

Gold Competency goes beyond the Silver level, representing the highest certification available for Microsoft Partners. A Partner with Gold Competency has a specialized skill set when it comes to implementing a particular tech solution or providing clients with service in a specific area. Only the top 1% of Microsoft Partners worldwide are Gold Certified. Microsoft Gold Certification indicates that a Partner meet rigorous standards. Microsoft requires at least 15 individuals within an organization pass various core value exams, plus five of those 15 have to pass addition specialty exams; This process is repeated annually.

Silver Competency indicates that a partner has made a special commitment to a particular business solution and that the partner undergoes a very thorough process for their certification. Those with Silver Competency are amongst the top 5% of Microsoft Partners worldwide.
